SkaiShield is a program we are building: help contractors prove their crews are safer, so that safety record can count for something at renewal.
SkaiShield is a program we are building, not a product you can buy today. We have no insurance partnership to announce, no rates to quote, and no savings to promise. This page exists so contractors can see where we are heading and tell us whether it is worth heading there.
Opt-in driving insight for crews who want it.
Most of a roofing crew's risk happens before anyone climbs a ladder. We are building consent-based driving insight — the kind of record that commercial auto programs already reward — so a company with genuinely careful drivers has something to show for it.
Nothing is collected until the individual driver turns it on, and they can turn it off at any time.
Fall detection and lone-worker alerting.
A fall on a roof, with nobody nearby, is the worst case this industry has. We are building toward Apple Watch fall detection routed to the crew and the office with the job-site location attached, plus check-ins for anyone working alone.
Emergency response stays with Apple's own Emergency SOS. We alert the team; we are not an emergency service.
Safety that shows up in the numbers.
Insurance is one of the largest line items a contractor carries, and a company that cannot evidence its safety record pays as though it has none. The goal of this program is to make a real record legible — and to put what that saves back into better coverage for the people doing the work.
This is the outcome we are working toward, not a rate we can promise.
Safety telemetry is personal data about a person, not operational data about a company. We are designing this program on that basis from the start, and these are commitments we intend to hold ourselves to as it is built:
This table is maintained as the program changes. If a row says “not started”, it has not started.
We would rather hear from contractors early than guess. If lowering what you pay to insure your crew — and putting that toward better coverage for them — is something you want, say so and we will keep you posted as it develops.
